When will I need to notarize or legalise my ADGM documents post incorporation?

Notarisation, legalisation, and/or attestation of corporate documents are usually required when documents need to be submitted to third party institutions or authorities whether within or outside of UAE.

The requirement if a document needs to be notarised / authenticated / attested will vary depending on the requirements of the office requesting such documents for instance freezones within UAE will accept ADGM’s digital authentication of a document however if the same document needs to be submitted cross border, for instance to Saudi Arabia, it may need to be attested up to Saudi Embassy in UAE.

The fees and the processes will also vary depending on which government authorities and/or embassies the documents will have to be notarised, legalised, and/or attested.

ADGM and UAE are not part of the Hague Convention therefore legalisation by the Apostille is not available as an option, however ADGM issued and attested documents can be attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of UAE for use in jurisdictions outside UAE.
