What can an ADGM Foundation be used for?

Foundations can be used for asset preservation, income protection, family estate planning and business succession.

Foundations are regularly used by entrepreneurs as a holding vehicle for their shares in their businesses, by families for estate planning instead of trusts and by high net worth individuals as an asset preservation tool.

A Foundation cannot be used for charitable purposes and cannot conduct commercial activities unless they are ancillary to its primary purpose (but can be used to hold shares in a commercial entity).
