Applicants in ADGM can select from a wide range of permitted business activities when establishing their ADGM entity. The current list is available on the ADGM website via this link.
The categories of activities fall into three main categories:
1. Category A (Financial)
2. Category B (Non-Financial)
3. Category C (Retail)
Non-Financial activities, broadly covers the controlled activities of professional services, as well as general service provision, foundations and corporate vehicles. It is broken down into further sub-categories of:
C - Manufacturing
L - Real Estate Activities
K - Financial and insurance activities
M - Professional, scientific and technical activities
N - Administrative and support service activities
An ADGM SPV that is set up for the purpose of holding equity and non-equity assets, including shares, debentures, bonds, real estate, intellectual property and other tangibles and intangible assets, falls under the category of M (Professional, scientific and technical activities).
