To renew your ADGM Tech Startup or Operating Company you will need to:
provide compliance documents,
confirm the data regarding the company, including all its Stakeholders,
provide your new lease if this has expired or will soon expire, and
pay the renewal fees.
A notification will be sent to the Clara Profile Owner(s) 6 weeks before the renewal deadline to prompt them to login and complete the steps outlined in detail below.
Provide compliance documents
There are two types of compliance document requests:
Replace any expired documents (passports, visas, commercial licence of corporate shareholders)
Interim compliance update
The Clara platform will identify any expired documents that you will need to source and upload to complete the renewal.
Interim compliance updates will be requested on annual or bi-annual basis depending on the company's compliance rating. If the current renewal requires you to provide an interim compliance update, you will need to supply:
Individual Stakeholders | Current dated proof of Residential Address. |
Corporate Stakeholders | Proof of the current directors and shareholders using one of the below: b. current dated certificate of incumbency showing directors and shareholders, or c. current dated Registry extract showing shareholder and directors |
Confirm the data regarding the Company
To complete your renewal, you will need to confirm the information that we have for your company as well as each Stakeholder. This is because Clara has to provide a confirmation to ADGM that the data registered with ADGM is correct and up to date when we submit the renewal filings.
You will need to confirm the following:
ADGM Tech Startup / Operating Company |
|
Individual Stakeholders |
|
Corporate Stakeholders |

Lease
For most companies, the lease start and end date will closely align with the commercial licence period. This means that each year before we can complete your company's renewal filings, you will need to provide Clara with a signed lease for the company covering the next commercial licence period.
If you will be renewing with the same registered office address, you will need to upload the new signed lease and enter the start and end date of the lease. If you are changing your registered office address, you will need to provide the lease details, upload the signed lease and confirm the start and end date. Additional fees apply to change the registered office address.
Once your new lease is signed, you should also reach out to your landlord to confirm that they have registered the lease and request evidence of the registration. Please update Clara once the lease has been registered.
