What can be used as proof of residential address?

A utility bill or bank statement that is dated within the past two months and shows your name and address in English will be accepted.

Updated over 7 months ago

A utility bill or bank statement showing your name and address and dated within past 2 months can be used as proof of your residential address. This must show your full residential address and not just a PO Box.

In some countries (such as Saudi Arabia) a national address extract may also be obtained.

The proof of address must be in English or the original with a legal translation can be supplied.

A lease or tenancy contract, title deed and mobile bills are not acceptable forms of proof of residential address.

If you don't have a proof of address because you live with family or in shared accommodation, you can supply:

  • a utility bill in the name of the family member or individual living at the same residential address,

  • the passport copy of the individual named on the utility bill, and

  • a letter signed by the individual whose name is on the utility bill confirming that you live at the address. Download a template letter here.
